FC Barcelona started the match at a high and dominated the first half. Lamine Yamal created the first goal in the 26th minute. Receiving the ball on the right wing, Yamal dribbled his way inside Madrid's box and found an unmarked Pedri at the edge of the box. Pedri thundered home a brilliant first-time shot into the back of the net to give Barcelona a 1-0 lead at half-time.

Carlo Ancelotti introduced Kylian Mbappe in the second half and Madrid's attacks started to become more threatening. After a couple of missed chances, Mbappe finally equalised for Madrid with his first free-kick goal from the edge of the box. Tchouameni entered the party as he found the net in the 77th minute from a corner kick. Just when it seemed all over for Barcelona, Lamine Yamal produced an exceptional pass to Ferran Torres who foxed Thibault Courtois and Rudiger to roll the ball into the net.

The score remained 2-2 till the 115th minute of extra time. In the 116th Jules Koundé produced a screamer as he netted a goal of his own from outside Madrid's box. Barcelona won the match that saw seven yellow cards and 3 red cards.

This is Barcelona's first Copa Del Rey victory since 2021. The club now has their eyes set on the next two titles within their grasp - UCL and Laliga. Barcelona will next play against Inter Milan in the first leg of the UCL semifinals on May 1st.
