Fenerbahce easily defeated Rizespor 5-0, making it a fantastic Sunday for former Manchester United teammates Jose Mourinho and Fred. After gaining 99 points despite losing to Galatasaray in the previous season, Jose Mourinho, 61, signed with the Turkish powerhouses during the off-season with the intention of regaining the league championship.

He teamed up with Brazilian player Fred again, who he had bought for Manchester United during his last summer there. Making his first start in the Turkish Super Lig of the season, Fred did not take long to establish himself as a reliable member of his new boss' team.

The 31-year-old unexpectedly scored five goals against Caykur Rizespor, including his first hat-trick of the season. After fifteen minutes, he scored his first goal, sending a long-range effort past custodian Gökhan Akkan and into the bottom corner. Fred then defeated the Turkey international once again in the second half.

The incident occurred when Allan Saint-Maximin, a former player for Newcastle United, snuck a pass across the left flank for Fred to sprint onto. Fred then fired his shot towards the far corner, and Akkan was unable to stop it. Four minutes later, Fred put the icing on top when he was the first one to respond to a rebound and successfully extended his left leg to score.

After his hat-trick, Fred was beaming, and when he was substituted in the 81st minute, he laughed with an equally ecstatic Jose Mourinho. The wholesome moment was shared on Instagram and the fans were left simply in awe of the duo during this amazing performance from the player and the team. Fred left the Red Devils to join the team in the summer of 2023.

Mourinho's life in Turkey has started off somewhat erratically. Earlier this month, he witnessed Fenerbahce lose to Lille in the second stage of UEFA Champions League qualification. After three league games—two victories and a draw—he has yet to experience defeat.
