Mourinho Andre Onana double save

Manchester United travelled to Istanbul to face Fenerbahce in the third matchday of the UEFA Europa League. Around the 37th minute of the game, Yousouff En-Nesyri headed towards the bottom left from close range after Allan Saint-Maximin's cross from the left side towards the Manchester United area. Andre Onana executes a fantastic diving stop reminiscent of Gordon Banks. It returns to the centre thanks to Dusan Tadic. En-Nesyri makes another attempt, but the goalie tips over his second point-blank header. The former Inter Milan goalkeeper made an incredible double save.

Earlier on in the half, Alejandro Garnacho crossed low after Joshua Zirkzee moved him into space along the left. Noussair Mazraoui, the number ten, padded the ball into Zirkzee's path. Christian Eriksen opened up his body and smashed a beautiful side foot towards the top left after Zirkzee rolled it into his path. It was a fantastic goal that also came from Manchester United's opening attack of the game.

Szymański ended up on the left side of the six-yard box, in a vacant spot. In an attempt to have Tadic ready for the tap-in, he cut back inside. Dusan Tadic appeared certain to score, but Manuel Ugarte came out of nowhere and intercepted with an outstretched leg as he side-footed the ball goalward. The Uruguayan international, who also contributed to the buildup from deep for Eriksen's opening goal, claimed the loose ball and saved the goal.

Noussair Mazroui playing in Bruno Fernandes’ position

Many people are perplexed by Erik ten Hag's choice of deploying Noussair Mazraoui for Manchester United versus Fenerbahce as a No. 10. Ten Hag had to significantly alter his roster for Thursday's Europa League match against Fenerbahce due to injuries and bans.

Eight first team members were left out from the 20-man travelling team because of fitness concerns, while Bruno Fernandes, a fixture in the offensive midfield role, was suspended. With Eriksen as well as Ugarte playing deeper roles in the middle of the park, Ten Hag looked to Mazraoui to take Joshua Zirkzee's place in the attacking midfield. Zirkzee took Rasmus Hojlund's place as the striker, while Casemiro was benched.
