Real Madrid plays against Valencia in La Liga, marking their return from winter vacation. The Mestalla will host Real Madrid's domestic return after they haven't played since defeating Sevilla 4–2 before Christmas. Originally postponed in November due to deadly floods in the Valencia region, this match has now been rescheduled for Friday night.
With three points, putting them ahead of local rivals Atletico Madrid in first position, Madrid is aware how important a win at Valencia is. Additionally, it is the start of three games in seven days, with the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana matches closely behind.
The idea of Madrid visiting Valencia won't thrill them. Carlos Corberan, the former manager of West Bromwich Albion, will be coaching Valencia for the first time. Valencia is currently in 19th place and has lost their last five La Liga games. Valencia is now at the bottom of the standings, and they may have faced the worst opponent in the first few months of 2025. They started under the new boss. Los Che got off to a quick start and created three decent chances in the first thirty minutes.
Carlos Corberan put his team out to press high, but Real Madrid had settled a bit more by the time the impact occurred, shortly before the half-hour. The quick play that Javi Guerra began almost finished with him, but Thibaut Courtois assisted him. However, Hugo Duro scored the first goal of the Corberan period with an easy finish as nobody followed him in on the rebound. The goal gave Valencia the lead on the scoreboard and sparked wild celebrations in the fans.

Real Madrid aim to bounce back in second half
Corberan will be aware that his team still has a long way to go since a lead over Real Madrid after just 30 minutes is far from definitive. Real Madrid wants to respond and take back control of the game after the score. Important first-half minutes and the full second half are still to come. A fiercely contested encounter is anticipated, and the excitement is still high.
