'Both of them have the...' - Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti opens up on competition with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in La Liga

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti recently came up with some clear-cut words and remarks during a pre-match press conference on Thursday. He made some bold remarks while speaking about the question of getting competition from Barcelona or Atletico Madrid. Notably, both Barca and Atletico are placed in the third and first spots on the La Liga 2024-25 points table.

Furthermore, Ancelotti also broke his silence on the issues Barcelona faced in registering Dani Olmo for the remainder of the season. Notably, Barca’s appeal to register Olmo for the rest of the season was rejected by the second court. It also transliterates into the fact that Olmo is not cleared to play for the Catalans in the remaining matches of the ongoing 2024-25 season.

Real Madrid's boss feels that there is no difference in the competitiveness for his side from Barcelona or Atletico Madrid.

“Equal. What happened to us in November happened to Barcelona in December. You stagnate and then you become competitive like before. Barcelona and Atletico have the same chances to compete with us in the league,” said Ancelotti to journalists during the pre-match press conference.

Speaking on the ‘Dani Olmo’ conundrum for Barcelona, the Italian refrained from making any statement that could’ve been taken as a nucleus to any further controversy.

“I don’t know the matter in detail. What I can say is to respect all the clubs, the institutions and the rules. I don't want to comment, because it's not the time to talk about this topic here. We'll see what will happen, taking into account that I'm delighted with the squad I have,” he said.

The 65-year-old also expressed his opinion on his team’s journey from November and how the team members came out of the tough times.

“[There was] a negative moment in November to which the team reacted very well. The team is now very motivated and in better shape. [David] Alaba has started training with us. So far, so good. The atmosphere is good and we must maintain it with only one thing, which is to win games,” he concluded.
