FIFA has unveiled a stunning new trophy for the upcoming Club World Cup, which will take place next summer in the United States. The trophy, designed as a globe-like sphere, features a unique mechanism that requires a giant gold key to open.
During the unveiling, FIFA President Gianni Infantino demonstrated this feature, and the reaction from viewers was overwhelmingly positive. Many praised the trophy as one of the most beautiful they have ever encountered, drawing comparisons to ancient relics. Even US President Donald Trump was in awe of the trophy and the golden key.

The 'Golden Key' that unlocks the Trophy
The new tournament trophy, designed by FIFA in partnership with renowned American jewellers Tiffany & Co., features a 24-carat gold-plated finish and showcases laser-engraved inscriptions, including a world map and the names of all member associations.
This prestigious trophy will be lifted for the first time next summer as FIFA introduces the new, expanded format of the competition across 11 U.S. cities, starting on Sunday, June 15.
"To those who hold this trophy, history belongs to you! You are witness to a moment in time that represents the pinnacle of club football, bestowed upon few but celebrated by many." - a quote inscribed in the trophy.
The revamped FIFA Club World Cup is set to commence in the summer of 2025, evolving into a biennial event thereafter. This new format will expand participation from seven clubs to 32, enhancing the competitive landscape of the tournament.
In place of the annual model, a new Intercontinental Cup will be introduced, featuring the UEFA Champions League winners facing the playoff victors in the final. Real Madrid is set to participate in this year’s inaugural final, which will be hosted in Qatar.
