WATCH: Cristiano Ronaldo avoids injury as fan jumps from stands towards him

Cristiano Ronaldo has a huge fan following across the world. The 39-year-old footballer's side had their final group-stage game against Georgia. He was furious after his side was handed a 2-0 defeat against the lowest rank European team in the tournament. The forward is yet to score a goal in the major tournament being the all-time leading scorer he has been unable to find the back of the net in the group stage matches. He has a lot of admirers across the world not only the normal fans, but young footballers as well.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia broke the deadlock after Antonio Silva lost their position in the middle of the park for a counterattack. He has been a fan of the Portuguese superstar as he was one of the footballers who started his career through the academy that Ronaldo opened in Georgia. He hugged the star footballer and asked for his t-shirt and the legend of the game gave away his shirt to the young footballer.

But while going back inside the tunnel the forward escaped an injury after almost being struck by a supporter who leaped from the stands at the Veltins Arena. A video of the same has been viral on social media, as the fan jumping from the stands feet-first and just narrowly avoiding the former Real Madrid as a steward managed to get in front of the Portuguese forward.

Fan invasion continues to meet Ronaldo

This is not the first time that someone has evaded the pitch to meet the star footballer. Previously in the game against Turkiye, four fans ran on the field in a bid to get selfies with Ronaldo in chaotic scenes at the stadium. Only one amongst those four was successful in taking a photo with the former Manchester United forward.

A young boy dodged the stewards to get on the field in the 69th minute at Westfalenstadion before whipping out his cell phone. Another fan came at the beginning of the game when the score line was 0-0 and Ronaldo pushed him away as there was a corner in contention at that moment.
