The United States of America began their Copa America 2024 campaign with a bang as skipper Christian Pulisic scored a worldie to put his side into the lead against Bolivia. The goal was scored inside three minutes as the hosts began their tournament in fine fashion at the AT&T stadium in Texas.
In the second minute of the game, United States of America won a corner and it was quickly taken by Timothy Weah. The Juventus forward passed the ball to the former Chelsea forward, who lined up an audacious effort from the edge of the box. The effort seemed to be a great one from the captain as it hit the far post and nestled into the top right corner of the net. After the goal, the stadium packed with American supporters seemed to be up on their feet and cheering for the skipper and the team.

United States of America set to shock everyone during Copa America 2024?
The United States of America are considered to be a force to reckon with and they surely have started off their campaign on a high. Their skipper is leading their golden generation from the front and they seem to have the right balance. The hosts have quality all over pitch as their squad is a wonderful mixture of youth and experience. Many experts and pundits have predicted that the United States of America would do wonders in the Copa America 2024 and can cause a fair few upsets along the way.
As the team's star player for a considerable amount of time, Pulisic mainly lived up to expectations during the World Cup in 2022, netting the game-winning goal against Iran to advance the United States to the knockout rounds. He just had what may have been his best professional season with AC Milan, tallying 12 goals and dishing out eight more assists.
If the United States advances, they will probably face either Brazil or Colombia during the quarterfinals, where they will be the underdog. The United States just suffered a crushing 5-1 loss to Colombia before managing a respectable 1-1 tie with Brazil. Right now, it seems impossible for the United States to defeat either of those teams but it remains to be seen what they can achieve in this tournament.
