Watch: Cesc Fabregas motivates his team Como after disappointing loss against Atalanta

Como welcomed Atalanta to the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in a Serie A matchup on Saturday. Despite facing some challenges, Como had secured five victories out of their 21 games, positioning themselves in 13th place with 22 points.

On the other hand, Atalanta aimed to capitalize on their recent return to form after two games without a win. With a strong offensive display, they managed to score in all but one of their last eight league matches.

The Tale of the Fixture 

Mateo Retegui's fiery performance in the second half, where he scored two goals, propelled him to the top of the league with a total of 16 goals. Atalanta showcased their resilience with a strong comeback, securing a 2-1 victory against Como on Saturday, which bolstered their aspirations for the Serie A title.

Under the gaffer Gian Piero Gasperini, the team showed improvements and is now just one point behind second-placed Inter Milan and four points adrift of league leaders Napoli, who previously triumphed over Atalanta in Bergamo last weekend. This victory has revived their title hopes for the season.

Nico Paz opened the scoring for Como in the 30th minute. In the 56th minute, Retegui levelled the match by deftly redirecting a cross from substitute Marco Brescianini with a single touch. Just 14 minutes later, he managed to put Atalanta in the lead by redirecting another cross from Brescianini, this time with a two-touch finish.

Como's manager, Cesc Fabregas, was captured motivating his side after a disappointing loss. The hosts bottled their lead and eventually lost the fixture, a result which only brought them closer to the zone of relegation.

Despite the loss, como1907 held their 13th spot with 22 points in Italy's top-flight league.
