Liverpool faced Everton away from home on matchday 34 of the English Premier League. The Merseyside Derby was amazing for the home side as they beat the Reds after 14 years at Goodison Park. The Reds despite winning their last away game against Fulham struggled on the night against their oldest rivals. Jurgen Klopp who has already announced his departure from the club has created a problem for the side. They were chasing quadrupled ahead of the announcement of the German coach.

Since the announcement was made they have collapsed in every league and tournament they were part of. They lost to Atalanta BC in the UEFA Europa League, were knocked out by Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals, and lost two crucial games in the title race of the PL in span of two weeks. They are out from the PL race after dropping points on Wednesday night. They lost the game 2-0 and missed again some of the best chances they had in the game.

After the horrifying defeat against 'the Toffees' club captain Virgil van Dijk has his saying. The star defender was very much shocked by the loss and criticized the team for their lack of commitment in yesterday's game. The Reds are second in the league with 74 points after 34 games, three points behind Arsenal. Manchester City trail by one point but have two games in hand.

Van Dijk upset with Liverpool

The Dutch centre-back said in SkySports, "Very disappointed in so many ways. I think everyone has to look in the mirror, look at their own performance and if they really gave everything. Do they really want to win the league? We can’t let the season go out like this."

The season for the club is over with four games remaining in their hand as they have bottled the fairytale farewell for the head coach. They will be next travelling to the London Stadium, to face West Ham United in the league on Saturday, with their next game will be at Anfield against Tottenham Hotspur.
