Manchester United have been struggling with form in the current season. The Red Devils are currently placed 7th in the English Premier League table with the same points as Newcastle United but the club is behind in goal difference. Erik ten Hag's side have conceded the most number of shots in the ongoing season than any other team. The team has suffered lots of injuries in the season, and irrespective of that the Dutchman has been under fire for his poor tactics and disciplinary problems with the footballers.

Ten Hag has asked for time from the club management and Sir Jim Ratcliffe to have patience with the first team. Ratcliffe is the new investor for the legendary club and is in control of the club's football operations. The fans are also not happy with the way he is managing his players and the team as well. There have been rumours that the 54-year-old coach might get sacked after the end of the season.

However after a hard-fought win against Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final. The Red Devils's qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League is quite impossible as they sit 10 points behind the qualification scenario for the upcoming season. United were knocked out of the group stage of the 2023/24 UCL after they were drawn with Bayern Munich, Galatasaray SK, and FC Copenhagen, they finished last at the table losing four games.

Are Manchester United finding new coaching options?

For the upcoming season if Man U do not qualify, then the management has decided to reduce Ten Hag's salary by 25%. However, the Dutchman's hot seat is in danger as Ratcliffe is finding alternatives for the new coach in the upcoming season. Gareth Southgate, Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Frank, Gary O'Neil and Thomas Tuchel are some of the managers that are on the list of the management for the upcoming season.

However, the names might be in the market but United will be continuing to pay less fees to Ten Hag. The most successful English club are not mathematically out of the race to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League, with 18 points to play in they meet Sheffield United on Wednesday and if they drop points at Old Trafford the mathematical race will also be over.
