Real Madrid Gaffer Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Vinicius Jr is currently experiencing pain and, hence, shall undergo medical tests in the next few hours. It raises concerns about the availability of the star winger.

Update from the Gaffer

The Brazilian international sustained an apparent neck/shoulder issue during Saturday's 2-0 win over Villarreal, leading to apprehension among Real Madrid fans.

Vinicius Junior will be tested by Real Madrid's medical team who will update them about the severity of the injury. Real Madrid is facing increasing injury concerns with the latest setback, especially since Dani Carvajal is already sidelined due to a serious knee injury.

"Vinicius Jr is in pain and will undergo tests in the next hours." - Ancelotti said

"His neck is blocked, he has suffered a problem and that's something we need to check with the medical staff," Ancelotti explained.

Real Madrid return to winning ways

Real Madrid bounced back from their first defeat since January with a 2-0 victory over Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday. Fede Valverde and Vinicius Junior both scored, helping Los Blancos to maintain their unbeaten streak in the Spanish top flight.

The win drew them level with leaders Barcelona before Barcelona's upcoming match against Alaves on Sunday. Valverde's deflected shot and Vinicius's powerful strike widened the gap to four points between Real Madrid and third-placed Villarreal, who put up a strong fight but fell just short in the capital.

The Italian coach decided to start Kylian Mbappe despite the French striker's recent recovery from a thigh problem.

Mbappe, who was not selected by France for the upcoming Nations League fixtures, delivered a rather subdued performance at the Santiago Bernabeu as his team secured victory through sheer determination rather than inspiration.

Meanwhile, Madrid continues to cope without the presence of German midfielder Toni Kroos, who was observing the match from a box.
