Viktor Gyokeres becomes Nations League top-scorer with yet another hat-trick

Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP and Sweden has four goals during the UEFA Nations League and is now up to 32 goals during the 2024–25 campaign. Gyokeres, who has scored four goals in Tuesday's 6-0 victory against Azerbaijan, has been in excellent goal-scoring form for both club and country this season, bringing his total to 32 in 24 games. 

Due to his goal-scoring prowess, the 26-year-old has already sparked rumors that he may quit Sporting. Gyökeres has five goals during five Nations League matches going into the evening. During the 58th minute of Sporting's 6-0 victory over Azerbaijan, he scored his third goal, bringing the team's total to eight goals in this competition. After passing Haaland and scoring his fourth goal in the 70th minute, Gyökeres, among the most sought-after players throughout the world, continued to play. The Manchester City attacker scored seven goals in total for Norway, notably a hat-trick in a 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan on Sunday, making him the leading scorer heading into the final night of games.

Gyokeres has stated that he intends to finish this campaign with Sporting, but if he keeps up his present play, he will undoubtedly receive offers at the conclusion of the season. Since former Sporting manager Ruben Amorim joined United, there have been hints that the Red Devils may make an approach in the summer. The Portuguese coach has already acknowledged that Gyokeres may be leaving at the conclusion of the current campaign.
