Victor Osimhen's agency appears to have refuted reports that the Napoli striker is leaning towards joining Al-Ahli. Agent Roberto Calenda went to X to provide Osimhen's side of the story following updates that Osimhen is being pursued by Al-Ahli and that Napoli and the Saudi Pro League team are almost certain to reach an agreement on a deal.

Calenda alluded to Osimhen's desire to stay in Europe. Calenda's remarks don't disprove Napoli's claims that they are in talks to pay Al-Ahli more than €65 million (£55 million/$73 million). Regardless of the things the clubs have stated to one other, it had already been established that Osimhen had not consented to personal conditions, and the agent now seems to be confirming that his client will not accept the offers.

On X, Osimhen’s agent wrote, "Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. He made history and when there were major offers (also this year) we always accepted the club's decisions. As I said, it is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets. Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eighth at the Ballon d'Or, he still has so much to do in Europe. There is need respect and balance."

Victor Osimhen’s desire is to move to England

Osimhen had been eager to make the move to England, since Chelsea as well as Arsenal showed an interest in him but never made a bid for him. Napoli could use the money they earn from Osimhen's sale to fund future transactions. Having submitted lower offers up to this point, Paris Saint-Germain has also never agreed to pay Napoli's asking price.

The Blues had been after Osimhen's signing all summer, but at first, a deal couldn't go through because Napoli insisted on receiving the full £113 million that Osimhen's release clause required. Napoli has backed down from their initial demands for Osimhen's transfer, though, as the Nigerian international is no longer allowed to play for Antonio Conte's team.
