The Uruguay side showed their class as they dominated the possession throughout the game and earned a convincing win courtesy goals from Maximiliano Araujo and Darwin Nunez. The latter played a part in both the goals as it was his leave that gave Araujo the space and time to unleash a shot from the edge of the box. The Liverpool striker was not at his clinical best as he missed a fair few great chances in front of goal but ultimately got a goal to his name for his efforts.

Three minutes later, Matias Pina added another one to bring more misery for the Panama players and their fans. However, there was some sort of respite for them as Panama got a consolation goal for their efforts and that might be the only positive they take from this game. This 3-1 ensures that Uruguay comfortably begin their 2024 Copa America journey with a win. They would now face Bolivia in their upcoming game before finishing off their group stage with a contest against the hosts, United States of America.

USA clinch easy victory against Bolivia to begin Copa America 2024

United States of America men’s national team skipper, Christian Pulisic stated that team would gain confidence from the 2-0 triumph against Bolivia in the Copa America's Group C opener on Sunday, as the tournament's hosts capitalised on the support of the local Arlington, Texas, audience.

In the third minute, Pulisic scored the first goal with a beautiful curling effort into the top corner. In the 44th minute, he assisted Folarin Balogun in scoring another goal. Despite missing a few scoring chances during the second half, Pulisic, who was greeted like a hero at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys,  the team had plenty to be happy about. He said, "We should build some confidence from this and feel good but the games are just going to get tougher and tougher as the tournament goes on so we've got to be ready."
