The UEFA Euro 2024, is set to begin in less than a weeks time and the fans are excited as the tournament nears. The footballers have already joined their respective camps for the upcoming mega event and started playing the international friendlies as well. In the last edition of the tournament Italy who was the champions of the last time of the tournament beat England at Wembley in the penalty shootout. 

There are a lot of stars that will be looking to make their names in the tournament and the well-established footballers will be looking to continue to showcase their amazing display as they have done throughout the years for their national teams. The nations have made the sides with a mixture of experience and young guns in their squad. The top twenty-four nations from all across Europe have been divided into six groups. 

There are footballers who might take the field for their country for the one last time in the tournament. In the article, we will be looking for the for the top footballers who will or have announced their retirements after UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany starting from 15th June.

5. Manuel Neuer 

Manuel Neuer is arguably the greatest goalkeeper of all time. The German captain has had a prolonged career in football and has been brilliant over the years for the national side and Bayern Munich as well. He missed the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after fracturing his leg right ahead of the tournament and since then he has not returned to the national side for any major tournament. Neuer will likely not play every match at the Euros but definitely he will be the first choice as this might be his last Euro as well. 

4. Cristiano Ronaldo 

Cristiano Ronaldo have been one of the greatest footballers of all time. The Portuguese superstar will be up for his sixth Euro as the leading scorer of the tournament and will be looking to make the most of it and win it in Germany. The 39-year-old has already passed his prime and this might be the last time the forward will be playing in the tournament.

3. Olivier Giroud 

Olivier Giroud has already announced his retirement from international football. He will be making his final appearance for France in the upcoming tournament. He is currently the all-time leading goal scorer for the Les Blues. In his final tournament, he will like to add some more goals to his tally. He also said he has no specific playing time for the Euros but hopes to experience a good run with France’s next generation of players  

2. Luka Modric 

The Croatian captain is one of the finest midfielders of this generation. The 38-year-old is nearing the end of a stellar career, and his ability to single-handedly turn things in his team's favour is slowly fading away. He has not announced his international tournament but however will be looking to call it a time in the international circuit. Modric recently signed a one-year contract with Real Madrid.

1. Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos is one of the best midfielders of all time. The German Sniper is known for his visionary passing and long-range shooting. He has once again regained his position in the national team and is part of the squad for the Euros as well. However, he has announced his international retirement after the end of the tournament at home. He had a stellar career with Real Madrid and Germany as well.
