The signing of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid has surely become the most discussed issue in recent days. As previously reported, Cristiano Ronaldo left a remark on Mbappe's Instagram post greeting Real fans.

Today, this comment shattered the platform's record. It ended up being the highest liked comment throughout Instagram history, with over 3.8 million likes. The Portugal captain wrote on Instagram under Kylian Mbappe’s post as he said, "My turn to [watch]. Excited to see you light up the Bernabeu. #HalaMadrid"

Mbappe will join Real Madrid as a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain on Monday. The Frenchman instantly addressed an Instagram post to Los Blancos fans and shared an old photo of himself wearing a Real Madrid jersey with Ronaldo posters in the backdrop. To everyone's amazement, the five-time UEFA Champions League winner followed up with a message of encouragement to Mbappe.

Real Madrid supporters will undoubtedly be expecting that Mbappe can replicate the feats of the Real Madrid myth, who netted 450 goals and provided 131 assists across 438 matches in all-white. He also received five Ballon d'Or accolades and 16 Santiago Bernabeu trophies over a nine-year period. Mbappe will make his Real Madrid debut on August 14 during the UEFA Super Cup versus Atalanta.

Why will Cristiano Ronaldo miss the friendly encounters ahead of UEFA Euro 2024?

With the club season done, international football resumes with a series of friendlies prior to the Copa America and Euros. On June 4, Portugal did not play against Finland in an exhibition match. Cristiano Ronaldo will not play, since he has been rested for the initial two friendlies during the June window. The attacker will miss games against Finland and Croatia to spend time with his family following a lengthy campaign in Saudi Arabia.

During the press conference, Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez stated, “All players are entitled to a 7-day vacation. Ronaldo will arrive on the seventh day of camp, so he will miss the first two friendly matches vs Finland and Croatia.”
