Tottenham Hotspurs after their horrifying defeat against Liverpool 4-2 at Anfield, was back at home facing Burnely. Ange Postecoglou 's side started the league well as they won 4 out of their first five games but they failed to perform consistently and lost their position in the league. The away side who are close to relegation came to White Hart Lane after their 4-1 defeat at home against Newcastle United.

Vincent Kompany's side started the game well as they created the chances from early on in the game and scored in the 25th minute of the game with Jacob Brunn Larsen giving the visitors the lead in the game after Sander Berge travelled with the ball from his own half dribbling past three Spurs players. Spurs after conceding piled on the pressure and that paid off with Pedro Porro equalising in the 32nd minute. The first half of the game ended in 1-1.

In the second half Spurs, kept on the pressure but they could not find the lead, finally, they found the opening in the 82nd minute with Micky van de Ven scoring the winner for the side. After the win on the weekend, they have kept their hopes for the UEFA Champions League. With the win, Burnely has been relegated to the second division.

Aston Villa or Spurs who will take the UCL spot?

After the win, they are four points behind Aston Villa and both sides have two games in hand, however, Unai Emery's side has the best chance of qualifying for the UCL next season as they need three points from the remaining two games. On the other hand, the North London side will hope to win their remaining games and they would love it if Villa drops points in the last two games of the season.

Postecoglou's side however has the best chance to qualify for the UEFA Europa League group stage directly as they sit fifth in the league table. They will be up against league leaders Manchester City in the next game and they will be facing Sheffield United in their final game of the season. On the other hand, Emery's side will have Liverpool and Crystal Palace.
