After the Spurs won their first trophy since the 2008 League Cup, Tottenham Hotspur players displayed a hilarious poster dedicated to their manager, Ange Postecoglou. A poster was unveiled by Tottenham players in which the manager, Ange Postecoglou, was seen wearing dark black glasses and holding the UEFA Europa League trophy. The poster also included Postecoglou's iconic statement, where he asserted to media personnel that he always wins silverware in his second season.
Ange Postecoglou has won several trophies across different continents as a manager, usually in his second season with a club. The list includes the J-League title, Scottish domestic treble, and the Europa League with Yokohama, Celtic, and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively.
"Usually in my second season, I win things, that’s the whole idea. The first year is about establishing principles and creating a foundation. Hopefully, the second year is going on to win things.” Postecoglou said.
“I’ll correct myself – I don’t usually win things, I always win things in my second year. Nothing’s changed. I’ve said it now. I don’t say things unless I believe them.” Ange said in September 2024.
Tottenham Hotspur outshone Manchester United with a single goal from Brennan Johnson in the 42nd minute. Although the Red Devils tried their best to stage a comeback, Tottenham Hotspur's defence stood tall to deny Manchester United from staging a comeback. Tottenham Hotspur's defenders and goalkeepers pulled off some sensational saves to claim victory for their side. Defender Micky van de Ven pulled off a sensational goal-line save in the 68th minute.
"I'm a winner. Win is what I do the most," said Postecoglou after his side's victory over Manchester United. "Even when I signed, Daniel [Levy] said 'we've gone after winners and it didn't work, now we've got Ange'. Mate, I'm a winner." Ange said after UEL finals.
