Norman Bassette's flat cross from the left creates the opening goal of the night. Unguarded in the middle, Brandon Thomas-Asante let the ball cross his body and side-footed a finish beyond Fraser Forster inside the Tottenham goal.
Fraser Forster, the custodian, mishandled his attempt to collect the ball after a long clearing. After Jake Bidwell headed the ball past the charging Forster, Haji Wright attempted to put it in the goal, but Davies came in to stop it. By far the best moment for Tottenham Hotspur.
Djed Spence continued to keep Tottenham afloat in the tie. James Maddison sends it over the corner, Dejan Kulusevski knocks a pass through, and Djed Spence shows power by getting to the ball first and slipping an equaliser past Ben Wilson despite the Coventry defender shoulder-barging him. Three substitutes combine to create a chance.
Brennan Johnson sprints onto a ball that has been played through and effortlessly lifts it past Ben Wilson with a flawless finish. Spurs were ecstatic and Coventry City seemed devastated after the full-time whistle got blown.
Brighton & Hove Albion advance to fourth round of Carabao Cup
With style, Carlos Baleba scores his first strike for Brighton & Hove Albion. Thirty yards away, Baleba strips Joao Gomes off the ball, sets himself up with a touch, and smashes a gorgeous, powerful shot into the bottom corner. Neither Santiago Bueno nor Pedro Lima could muster a serious challenge as Simon Adingra easily got over them both. Then, Adingra put a hard-hit, low shot beyond Jose Sa to double the score.
Joao Gomes makes a great play down the left, releasing Matt Doherty, who brings the ball back to the danger area. Goncalo Guedes is there, and although his side-footed shot may have gone in straight anyhow, it deflects slightly and ends up in the net. Jose Sa parries a shot from Simon Adingra, but Ferdi Kadioglu is quick to respond, heading in the rebound with his initial goal for the team. Brighton & Hove Albion manage to easy past Wolverhampton Wanderers in the end.
