Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the subjects discussed when Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa paid a visit to President Donald Trump at the White House. While the two presidents met in 2018, Trump was still in office, the American tycoon inquired about the Portuguese football player.

Based only on his fame, the renowned Portuguese striker would undoubtedly have a solid chance if he decided to enter politics after his playing career. Cristiano Ronaldo achieved a world first by being the first individual to have 500 million followers on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). His Forbes profile states that in March 2024, this figure reached 903 million.

Along with Manchester United, Ronaldo won nine titles in the early stages of his career, developing into one of the world's top players and taking home the Ballon d'Or. Eventually, he relocated to Real Madrid, where he won four more Ballon d'Or trophies and established himself as a legend in the sport. The Portuguese icon further solidified his reputation by winning 15 titles with Los Blancos.

For the most part in the past 20 years, Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to play at one of the top levels in the globe while also keeping up his form. But the renowned striker is starting to show symptoms of trouble.

It is worth mentioning that since he departed Europe, taking on the responsibility of promoting the growth of football in Saudi Arabia. His mega-move to Al-Nassr prompted a lot of European footballers to seek new opportunities in the Middle East, and the Portugal striker has fared well thus far. He ended last season with 35 goals, shattering the Saudi Pro League record. However, when he returned to Europe to play for Portugal in the Euros, he failed to satisfy expectations.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t spoken about his availability for the upcoming FIFA World Cup which will take place in Mexico and the USA.
