England and Slovakia will face off in the round of 16 at the Arena AufSchalke on Sunday in an attempt to qualify for the quarterfinals of Euro 2024. England failed not score a shot on goal in the first half, marking the first time it has done so in a knockout stage game at a major tournament since the quarterfinal against Argentina in 1986.

After receiving a pass from Kieran Trippier, Phil Foden thought he had tied the score four minutes into the second half. Foden had been the runner-up in the previous edition. But after verifying that Foden was not behind the ball when Trippier delivered it to him, VAR checks declared the goal out for offside.

England will now face Switzerland in quarter final of Euro 2024. After defeating reigning champions Italy 2-0 on Saturday Switzerland booked their spot for quarter finals. The quarter final match will take place on 6th July at Merkur Spiel Arena.
