According to reports, Galatasaray will try to recruit Tottenham's 32-year-old forward Son Heung-min during the January transfer window. The Turkish publication Fanatik said that Galatasaray is interested in Son Heung-min. The 2023–24 Super Lig champions are eager to sign the Tottenham veteran during the January transfer window at a reduced cost. As a result, they will discuss the South Korean star alongside the North London club shortly.
Since moving from Bayer Leverkusen to Tottenham Hotspur in August 2015, Son Heung-min has emerged as one of the Premier League's top performers. Over the past nine and a half years, the adaptable Asian striker has not looked back after making an immediate impression for the North London club.
The 32-year-old, who took over as club skipper at the beginning of the 2023–24 season when Hugo Lloris left, has seen his prominence soar throughout his time with Tottenham in the Premier League. Son has made more than 400 appearances for Tottenham so far, scoring 165 goals and dishing out 87 assists.
However, with his contract expiring in just under nine months, the experienced attacker's long-term status at Tottenham Hotspur is in doubt. The South Korean striker is growing more uncomfortable at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium even if the North London powerhouses are prepared to exercise the one-year contract extension option.
Can Son Heung-min move to Turkey in the upcoming transfer window?
With the most recent report connecting him to Galatasaray, Son Heung-min has plenty of suitors vying for his signing. The 2023–24 Turkish Super Lig champions have a strong team that includes a number of excellent attackers. As a result, Son has become a realistic target for Galatasaray, who are prepared to make a strong push to get him from Tottenham during the January transfer window.
They have also planned to discuss a deal for the seasoned player after sitting down for negotiations with the North London club. However, given their desire to earn a spot in the UEFA Champions League, Tottenham Hotspur is unlikely to accept offers for Son in the middle of the season.
