Galatasaray set to trade players in an attempt to sign Victor Osimhen permanently

After navigating a challenging period with Napoli's management, Victor Osimhen successfully transitioned during the transfer window. He completed a long-term loan to Galatasaray, where he has been thriving. Since his arrival, the Nigerian striker has made a significant impact, contributing three assists and scoring six goals in his last eight matches.

Galatasaray set to trade players in an attempt to sign Osimhen 

Turkish media reports that Napoli has joined the race for Akgün and may submit a formal bid during the upcoming January transfer window. After an impressive Europa League campaign where he topped the goalscoring chart with four goals, the forward has firmly captured the attention of leading clubs across Europe. 

Both Manchester United and Napoli are reportedly keen on the Turkish attacker, a scenario that could greatly benefit Galatasaray in their pursuit of Osimhen. The striker had officially moved to Turkey on loan as of September 4, following the collapse of potential transfers to Chelsea and the Saudi Pro League on deadline day. The release clause stands firm at €120m but will decrease to €80m if a deal isn’t struck by June 2025.

In addition to Yunus Akgun, both Davinson Sanchez and Baris Alper Yilmaz are also set to be transferred to secure the permanent signing of the Nigerian player.

Galatasaray is determined to leverage Akgün in a trade to negotiate a lower transfer fee for Osimhen, should Napoli pursue him.
