Ahead of the match between Manchester City and Manchester United, Amorim was asked about his counterpart and his legacy in Football. The United coach regarded Pep highly and claimed he keeps winning all the time. He did not feel their comparison right, given what they have achieved in their careers, so far.

"You can't compare me with Guardiola. That guy is winning all the time! He can relax if he's not winning any more. I have to prove it every day. Compare me with the situation of Guardiola, it's just a joke," said Amorim in the press conference ahead of the Manchester Derby.

He was also asked about the status of Kobbie Mainoo. Ruben wanted Mainoo to play a lot, much like others, and felt he had a lot to offer for the team. The United Manager felt Kobbie could improve a lot. While he felt the star player had made a name for himself, he felt there is a lot of room for improvement.

"Like a lot of guys, he wants to play more. I believe a lot in Kobbie but some of you think that Kobbie Mainoo is already done. I think he can do so much better. He can improve in a lot. I really believe in Kobbie but I want more," Amorim added in his statement.
