Manchester United is considering the opportunity to generate up to £62 million through the potential sale of Marcus Rashford, aiming to use these funds to acquire a new striker and support a valuable rebuilding process under Amorim’s guidance at Old Trafford.

Rashford has only managed to net three goals in the first five matches since the Portuguese tactician took charge, although he has featured in the starting lineup for only two of those games.

Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are clear long-term options for the left wing and striker positions, putting Marcus Rashford's future in serious doubt.

At 27 years old, Rashford's connection with the fans has significantly declined, and he's managed to score only 15 goals since signing a lucrative contract that runs through 2028 last summer.

The Clubs that may sign Rashford

Rashford signed a £300,000-a-week contract following a career-best season in which he scored 30 goals. However, he is currently struggling to deliver the performance levels necessary to justify his position on the wage bill.

According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United is now looking to offload the No. 10, who has also seen his spot in the England squad slip away.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are actively pursuing him, and his availability is sure to draw even more significant interest from top clubs. While January transfer activity is not expected, substantial sales will be necessary to support Amorim.

Amorim's possible replacement for Rashford

The report confirms that Amorim has identified five key attacking targets to replace Rashford should he leave within the next year.

It's no surprise that Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres features prominently on this list, having forged a formidable partnership with the 39-year-old in Lisbon.

Victor Osimhen from Napoli, currently on loan at Galatasaray, is expected to be mentioned alongside Brighton's Evan Ferguson and Juventus players Dusan Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz.

While it's uncertain how these players will fit into Amorim's long-term strategy, it’s important to consider that Manchester United's ability to strengthen their squad in the transfer market may be impacted if they do not secure a Champions League spot for the second consecutive season.
