Garnacho's future at Manchester United has been a topic of discussion ever since he was rested by Amorim during a Premier League match against Manchester City, alongside Marcus Rashford. Although the 20-year-old has since rejoined Amorim's squad while Rashford has not, questions about Garnacho’s long-term role at the club persist. Amorim has taken the opportunity to clarify his thoughts on Garnacho's future, indicating ongoing considerations as the situation evolves.

In a media briefing, Amorim asserted that Garnacho undoubtedly possesses talent. However, he emphasised that the Argentine must adjust to playing a different role and improve his performance in central midfield.

Amorim pointed out that while Garnacho has made decent strides in his defensive responsibilities when out of possession, this progress has occasionally left him out of position during crucial transitions, a situation he needs to rectify at the earliest.

"That is clear. He has talent. He needs to learn to play in a different position. He needs to play better inside." Amorim pointed.

"He improves a lot in the recovering position when he doesn't have the ball. But doing that, sometimes he's not in the right place to make transitions like he was in the past. I prefer to defend and then build up with all the team to reach the final third." Amorim explained.

"He's finding the best way to play in this system. He's improving during training. He started the last game. Let's see tomorrow. I think he changed the way he sees himself," he added.

Garnacho is linked with Antonio Conte's Napoli, with Calciomercato reporting that the Serie A club has already reached an agreement in principle for a January transfer. However, the Red Devils are adamant about valuing their academy graduate at a minimum of £70 million, a sum Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is currently unwilling to meet this month.

The Argentine winger has expressed a willingness to consider a transfer to Napoli, even if it means accepting a lower salary than he currently receives at Manchester United. However, with Amorim's strong belief in his abilities, Garnacho might ultimately choose to stay and assess his options for the future.
