Threats to the CEO of AS Roma's family and life ensued when Daniele De Rossi was fired as manager. AS Roma, an Italian club, is in disarray as CEO Lina Souloukou resigned in response to criticism over Daniele De Rossi's contentious departure. As the crisis that has surrounded the club in the past few weeks continues to boil on, the club published a public statement confirming her resignation.

It said, “AS Roma announces today that CEO Lina Souloukou has stepped down from her role. We thank Lina for her dedicated service during a critical period for the club and wish her the best in her future endeavours. The ownership remains fully committed to AS Roma’s growth and success, with continued focus on the values that make our club so special.”

La Repubblica claims that Souloukou was met with criticism from supporters, especially ultras, who were incensed at the choice to leave with Roma icon De Rossi, who had been brought in to replace former manager Jose Mourinho.

De Rossi was unexpectedly fired following Roma's winless beginning to the 2024–25 season, in spite of his recent contract renewal. This caused a stir among the supporters, many of whom held Souloukou responsible for the decision.

Tensions inside the AS Roma camp increased as a result of the response to De Rossi's resignation, and according to accounts from the Italian media cycle, the threats made against Souloukou including her family were so serious that police protection was necessary.

Large segments of the Giallorossi fan base, incensed over the way De Rossi was fired, have organised protests against the club's management for Sunday's Serie A matchup against Udinese, who are now leading the league.

While some sectors have chosen to attend, they will only be present for the second half of the Serie A match, the Curva Sud will remain outside the Stadio Olimpico during the first thirty minutes of the match.  According to reports from La Repubblica, the CEO was placed in police protection as the supporters' resentment of Souloukou intensified.
