Daniele De Rossi, the head coach of AS Roma, recently addressed swirling rumours regarding Paulo Dybala's potential departure to Saudi Arabian club Al Quadsiah. In a press conference held ahead of Roma's season opener against Cagliari, De Rossi remained cautious about confirming or denying the reports but emphasized his dedication to the team above all else.

Roma fans have been unsettled by the news that Dybala might be negotiating a transfer to the Saudi Pro League. Speculation suggests that the club could be looking to offload the Argentine star due to his substantial salary. With the season just about to kick off, the uncertainty surrounding Dybala's future has understandably become a focal point for both the media and the supporters.

When questioned about the situation, De Rossi was clear in his stance. "I am a Roma fan, I always will be," he began, acknowledging his deep connection to the club. However, he was quick to point out that his role as a coach requires him to handle such matters with care.

"When it is just rumoured, a coach cannot comment on that, or negotiations or chats. I was not part of the discussions and have an important game tomorrow, so I cannot get into that," De Rossi explained.

“I told Paulo what I think”, says De Rossi

De Rossi did not shy away from expressing his thoughts directly to Dybala and the club. He stated, "As a coach, I told the club and I told Paulo what I think. He was a great player yesterday; he hasn’t stopped being a great player. I always speak face-to-face with my players, but I cannot do more than that."

Despite the uncertainty, De Rossi reiterated that the team comes first. "Nobody is more important than Roma, that is crucial," he stressed. For De Rossi, maintaining a strong squad and achieving good results are paramount. He dismissed any notion that he has ulterior motives, making it clear that his only concern is the club's success.
