FC Barcelona delivered an impressive performance during their match against Alaves on the road, securing a 3-0 victory. This win propelled them three points ahead of their closest rivals, Real Madrid, who currently hold the second position in the table.

Robert Lewandowski was the standout player of the game, achieving a remarkable hat trick with three goals in the first half.  His remarkable form continued on Sunday as he netted a 25-minute hat trick, propelling Barcelona to a 3-0 victory over Alaves and securing the top spot in the Spanish league heading into the international break.

With 12 goals in 11 games across all competitions and eight goals in his last five matches, he is dominating the La Liga scoring charts with a total of 10 goals.

Flick Effect to Finally help Lewandowski secure Ballond'Or

Lewandowski and Hansi Flick share a strong connection due to their time together at Bayern Munich. During this period, Lewandowski established himself as one of the best strikers globally, competing with the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the Ballon d'Or.

Flick played a significant role in Lewandowski's development, and in turn, Lewandowski contributed to Flick's coaching reputation.

Flick's understanding of how to maximize Lewandowski's potential is evident from the striker's impressive record of 83 goals in 71 games. Lewandowski was the top scorer during Flick's tenure at Bayern Munich.

The Polish striker had an outstanding 2020/21 season, scoring 41 goals in 29 appearances, averaging about one goal per hour. This achievement made him the top scorer in a single Bundesliga campaign in the 21st century.

Lewandowski came close to winning the Ballon d'Or in 2021, finishing second with 580 points, just behind Lionel Messi's 613. In 2020, despite being a top contender, he missed out on the award due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

With both Lewandowski and Flick now at FC Barcelona, it will be interesting to see if Lewandowski can finally claim the Ballon d'Or under a manager who can help always bring out his full potential.
