Real Madrid's Galacticos signing Kylian Mbappe sidelined with a new injury

Real Madrid has announced an injury to forward Kylian Mbappe in an official statement released on Thursday afternoon in Spain. While the club has not provided specific details on the recovery timeline, reports from AS suggest that he may be unavailable for up to 10 days. As a result, he is expected to miss the crucial La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano this Saturday in Vallecas.

Mbappe ruled out for indefinite time

According to AS, Mbappe is set to be sidelined for as long as 10 days, which guarantees that he will miss Saturday's crucial La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas.

"After the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappe by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the thigh of his left leg," the statement said.

This fixture carries significant weight, as a win will propel Madrid to the top of the Spanish league table, ahead of their fierce rival FC Barcelona, who will be hosting Leganes on Sunday night.

Mbappe faced a setback last week when he missed a penalty at Athletic Club in San Mames. Following a disappointing 2-1 defeat, head coach Carlo Ancelotti openly acknowledged that the number 9 was not performing at his peak. 

However, Mbappe quickly turned the tide, delivering outstanding performances with impressive goals at Girona in a commanding 3-0 victory last weekend. He also made a decisive impact just 10 minutes into the Champions League clash against Atalanta, helping Real Madrid secure a thrilling 3-2 win on Tuesday.

Ancelotti portrayed Mbappe's injury as a minor one in the post-match press conference.

"It doesn't seem serious, but he had to stop because he couldn't sprint. It bothered him a little, so we preferred to change him." Ancelotti said.
