After Lyon was temporarily demoted to Ligue 2, Real Madrid is contemplating a surprise bid for Alexandre Lacazette. In the forthcoming January transfer window, Real Madrid is reportedly contemplating a spectacular move for Lyon attacker Alexandre Lacazette, based on a report from Fichajes. Los Blancos hope to take advantage of the fact that the 33-year-old's deal with the French team ends at the conclusion of this season in order to entice him to move to the Santiago Bernabeu come January.

The French football's financial watchdogs, the National Directorate of Management Control (NDMC), have punished Lyon for their alleged indebtedness of over €500 million (£418 million). In addition to being prohibited from making any purchases in January, Olympique Lyon will be demoted to Ligue 2 if they are unable to resolve their financial issues by the end of current season. Furthermore, from this point on, the NDMC will oversee the club's payroll. Madrid wants to take advantage of Lyon's issues in order to address their own.

Will Real Madrid make the move for Alexander Lacazette?

The team is considering making a €5 million bid to sign Lacazette as soon as January because they like him. In 88 games since coming back to Groupama Stadium in 2022, the former Arsenal attacker has scored 58 goals. By signing him, manager Carlo Ancelotti might gain an additional attacking option who brings something that no other member of this team could. His attacking prowess can also help the team out in crucial situations in the final third.

Endrick's Real Madrid season may come to an end with Lacazette's possible arrival. The talented young player has become Carlo Ancelotti's afterthought despite scoring in his La Liga as well as Champions League debut. The 18-year-old may consider a loan exit in January due to a shortage of playing time; Real Valladolid is one potential suitor. Outside of Spain, Tottenham Hotspur as well as Juventus are interested in acquiring the Brazilian international in January.
