Despite Erik ten Hag's squad playing well, Manchester United had to settle for a single point in their 0-0 Premier League 2024–25 tie with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. The stalemate, which left United with seven points and in 11th place in the table, was at least a little act of retaliation for their humbling 4-0 loss to Palace in May of last season. Palace, owned by Oliver Glasner, ranks 16th with three points.

Erik Ten Hag's team will be disappointed with the opportunities lost on Saturday, especially the two heartbreaking near-misses in the first half where Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho both failed to score, leaving them to shake their heads in shock.

During Saturday night's Premier League match at Selhurst Park vs Crystal Palace, Lisandro Martinez was fortunate to escape a red card. In the sixty-third minute of Saturday's hard-fought 0-0 stalemate between Crystal Palace and Manchester United, Martinez sprang into the air and landed with both feet within a few centimeters from Kamada's ball control.

The decision to only display Lisandro Martinez a yellow card infuriated the home crowd, even though the United center-back won the ball and did not make contact with Palace's midfielder. The Crystal Palace supporters started to boo at the Argentine, but he didn't let that stop him from fighting to help Manchester United maintain a clean sheet. Martinez did not succeed in sealing the victory, and the Red Devils were unable to record three straight wins after the international break.

Andre Onana made two epic save

It wasn't all plain sailing for United, even if Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho banged efforts against the woodwork. Inspired by Eberechi Eze's close calls before and after the break, Crystal Palace enjoyed their moment of glory. During the second half, United was kept in the game by two excellent saves from Andre Onana. In an attempt to steal the game, the Red Devils brought on Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund in the closing minutes, but Erik ten Hag's team was unable to find the winning margin.
