Old Trafford hosted the clash between Manchester United and Arsenal FC, with both teams desperate for a win in the upcoming encounter. A win for Arsenal would keep them alive in the title race but a loss for them would surely mean that Manchester City would have one hand on the English Premier League title.

Leandro Trossard got the early goal that the side needed as he was at the end of a brilliant ball from Kai Havertz. The game was still end-to-end throughout the first half and with only one goal lead for the visitors, it was anyone’s game in the second half. For a change, United dominated the proceedings for the initial part of the second half and were looking to attack. But Arsenal held on to the lead by the scuff of the neck and got the win that they desired the most. Let's take a look at the match ratings between Arsenal and Manchester United.

Ratings for the game:

Manchester United:

Andre Onana - 8

The keeper was great with his distributions but was not at fault for the early goal. He also made some great saves to keep his side in the game

Diogo Dalot - 7.5

The full-back was one of the best players for the hosts today as he was defensively solid and was attacking on every available opportunity.

Casemiro - 6.5

The veteran produced a much better performance than what was on display during the Monday night defeat.

Jonny Evans - 6

The centre-back was decent in this game but partially is on fault for the opener as he should have defended Havertz’s ball into the 6-yard box.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 5.5

The right-back got in some solid blocks but should have stopped Trossard from shooting the ball for the opener.

Sofiyan Amrabat - 6.5

The defensive midfielder was great today for a change but a lack of game awareness costed some key moments for his side.

Scott Mctominay - 6

The interim skipper was decent against Arsenal and it was difficult for him to replicate what Bruno Fernandes does for the team.

Kobbie Mainoo - 7.5

The young midfielder was great once again but unlucky to not have great support in midfield. He kept the ball well and was always looking to create a chance for his side.

Alejandro Garnacho - 8

The winger was great on the left and looked like the main source of goals for the side in this game.

Amad Diallo - 6.5

The youngster was great as he started ahead of Antony and looked way more versatile. He was able to contribute in both defence and attack. He got a niggle and was removed around the 70th minute of the game

Rasmus Hojlund - 5

The striker has not been able to replicate the sort of form that he showed earlier in the season. He could not win the battle against the Arsenal centre-backs which was a concern.

Substitutions:

Antony - 4.5

The winger was able to create some chances but once again he was not able to muster much whenever he had the space.

Willy Kambwala - N/A

Christian Erkisen - N/A

Ethan Wheatley - N/A

Omare Forson - N/A

Arsenal:

David Raya - 7

The keeper had to be alert on occasions but did not have any significant saves to make.

Ben White - 6.5

The defender was not able to deal with Alejandro Garnacho on a few occasions and was one of the weak links for the defence this game.

Wiliam Saliba - 8.5

The Frenchman was quite aggressive in the defence and often showed composure whenever United attacked.

Gabriel - 7.5

The centre-back dealt with Hojlund brilliantly and looking solid at the back throughout the game.

Takehiro Tomiyasu - 6

The left-back had some early nerves and was under immense pressure whenever Manchester United tried to attack.

Thomas Partey - 5.5

The defensive midfielder was not at his best today as he conceded a chance early but was lucky it was not converted.

Declan Rice - 7

The defensive midfielder had some early nerves but had a great display and was looking to help out the defence more often than not.

Martin Odegaard - 6.5

It wasn’t a great performance but was once again their main source of chances but at times looked invisible, so it can be called a rare off day.

Bukayo Saka - 6.5

The English winger had a decent game but was mostly quiet by Dalot. However, at times he had the opportunity to provide some chances.

Kai Havertz - 7.5

The attacker was quiet but when he got the chance he was perfect and got the assist for the first goal.

Leandro Trossard - 8

The winger was great as he got the early goal and had the game sense to make timely runs. He was substituted in the second half.

Substitutions:

Gabriel Martinelli - 7

The winger was a great addition to the side as he was able to produce some chances and hold-up play whenever required.

Gabriel Jesus - N/A

Jorginho - N/A

Jakub Kiwior - N/A
