Barcelona star Lamine Yamal recently shared his perspective on the ongoing discussions regarding officiating in Spanish football, as well as his potential future with arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Officiating has once again become a red-hot topic in La Liga, particularly following critical decisions that have generated considerable discussion in matches involving both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
In an earlier match, the Galacticos felt they were wronged, as a string of penalty appeals were ignored, culminating in Jude Bellingham receiving a straight red card for merely protesting the decisions.
On Monday night, Barcelona took full advantage of a comparatively more lenient refereeing performance, reclaiming their position at the top of the La Liga table. Recent unrest at Real Madrid affected players, staff, and fans alike.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo earlier this week, it was expected that the topic of these issues would be addressed with Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old seized the opportunity to express his support for the officials of Spanish football.
Yamal asserted that the referees strive to perform at their best. Yamal felt that the referees were doing their utmost in a challenging role where someone was bound to voice complaints. His team, however, stands fully behind the decisions made on the field.
”When we were six points behind, I remember the penalty on Jules at Getafe, which they didn’t call, but yesterday they did call that penalty on Iñigo. So, I don’t know… In the Copa del Rey, the referees first went in Madrid’s favour and then against Osasuna they went against them. It’s going to be like that every matchday. I don’t think we can complain, Madrid, Barça and Atlético. I think the referees try to do their best. There isn’t as much talk about games like the one against Alavés and Leganés, and maybe there are more controversial actions. But the referees try to do their best. It’s a very difficult job because someone will always complain. We are very happy,” Yamal said.
When questioned about the possibility of switching his allegiance to Real Madrid, the 17-year-old responded that such a change would not occur. “Real Madrid move one day? No way. No chance. Impossible. Real Madrid, no,” Yamal added.
