Real Madrid has received a staggering €300 million bid for Brazilian superstar Rodrygo from Al-Hilal, the reigning champions of the Saudi Pro League. The move is a strategic one, as Al-Hilal is clearly targeting him to fill the void left by Neymar Junior.
Neymar's transfer to Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain has been nothing short of a disappointment, primarily due to his ongoing injury problems. During his time at the club, he managed to play only seven matches, scoring just one goal and providing three assists.
As a result, Al-Hilal made the move to terminate his contract this month, allowing Neymar to return to his boyhood club, Santos, on a six-month deal.
Following Neymar's exit, Al-Hilal is reportedly considering Rodrygo as a potential successor. Spanish outlet MARCA has indicated that Real Madrid has received a substantial bid of €300 million for the young talent from the Saudi club. In addition to the transfer fee, Al-Hilal is also looking to provide Rodrygo with an attractive salary, which would position him among the top players in the Saudi Pro League.
Carlo Ancelotti puts an end to the speculations
However, Real Madrid's manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has put an end to all the ongoing speculations surrounding Rodrygo's potential transfer to Al-Hilal. He suggested that Rodrygo was in a happy place at Santiago Bernabeu and wished to accomplish more together with the club.
“Rodrygo to Saudi Arabia? My players are very happy here and want to make history here. I said that about Vini, I repeat about Rodrygo." Ancelotti said in the post-match press conference.
Transfer journalist Edu Aguirre reported that Al-Hilal was proposing an astounding €140 million annual salary to Rodrygo. Nevertheless, the Brazil international is determined to remain at Real Madrid and establish his legacy with the club. Real Madrid shared this sentiment, having no intention of selling the talented forward. Rodrygo has scored 67 goals and 47 assists in 245 appearances for Galacticos across all competitions.
