Mason Mount is expected to be on the sidelines until March as he continues to work through his injury challenges. The 25-year-old midfielder had to leave the pitch just 14 minutes into the match against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier this month, a game that Manchester United won 2-1. This situation has raised some concerns about his long-term fitness.

According to sources, Mount’s recovery process may keep him out of action until March, as he aims to make a strong return for his second season at Old Trafford, hoping to turn things around after a challenging start.

Mason Mount conveys his frustration

Earlier in the campaign, Mount faced two distinct injuries, and last season, he was sidelined for three months because of a calf issue.

The arrival of Ruben Amorim as head coach was expected to revitalise Mount's performance, yet this latest injury setback has undeniably complicated the situation for the English midfielder once more.

Mount made his frustration known to the fans through a post on his Instagram

"Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now. You could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.” Mount said.

Ahead of United’s clash with Bournemouth, Amorim announced that the midfielder will be sidelined for an extended period.

Mount isn't the sole player that Amorim has had to manage without in recent matches. Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are sidelined due to injuries, and Matthijs de Ligt missed the Bournemouth game due to illness.

"Several weeks [out]," he said. "I don’t know the exact date, but it’s going to be for long. And that’s it; it’s part of football, and you continue." Amorim said.
