Alphonso Davies to Manchester United

Alphonso Davies' future is still uncertain, and if the defender decides to move on from Bayern Munich next summer, Manchester United is reportedly interested in signing the superstar left-back.

The Canadian player's agreement with the Bundesliga powerhouses expires at the end of the current campaign, and negotiations for a new contract have not gone as planned thus far. Some of the top teams in Europe are interested in signing the full-back, but Bayern hopes to get him back to the bargaining table before his present deal ends.

According to sources from Sky Germany, Manchester United has entered the competition for the left-back after deciding to make the Bayern Munich superstar one of their top priorities for the 2025 summer transfer window. The English Premier League team has already obtained information about the player.

Real Madrid is thought to be the front-runner to recruit the Canadian star in 2025 after keeping an eye on Alphonso Davies' circumstances in Germany for several months. Given Real Madrid's interest, the Manchester club does not think they have an excellent chance of acquiring the defender, but they will be ready to strike if the La Liga team fails.

Why are Manchester United desperate to sign Alphonso Davies?

Over the past two seasons, Erik ten Hag and Manchester United have struggled at left-back because of Luke Shaw's ongoing injury problems. The international for England has not yet made an appearance with the Manchester club in the 2024–25 season and has shown himself to be too inconsistent to start as the Red Devils' left-back starting in the upcoming campaign.

Should he finalize his transfer to Old Trafford in 2025, Alphonso Davies, who is considered to be among the greatest in his position, would be a great asset to Manchester United. Although the 23-year-old Canadian is probably focused on joining Real Madrid, he might be the team's left-back for several seasons to come if that doesn't work out.
