English club Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow as their two stars are set to miss the start of the season. Lenny Yoro is set to be out for three months due to the foot injury he suffered during the pre-season game versus Arsenal.

Striker Rasmus Hojlund is set to be out for close to six weeks due to an injury to his hamstring. This would mean that the Danish star will be out until the middle of September to give Erik Ten Hag a new headache.

Leny Yoro had signed from Lille for over 50 million pounds. He was expected to be the main man in the defence along with Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot. The latest setback means that the Manchester United manager will now have to rely on Jonny Evans and Harry Macguire for the first three months of the season.

There are also talks that Manchester United could now accelerate their pursuit of Dutch star Matthijs De Ligt. The young defender is waiting for Manchester United to make a move after having agreed personal terms with the club. All that needs to be done is for United to agree a fee with Bayern Munich who are asking for 42 Million Pounds.

Manchester United beat Real Betis in pre-season game

On Wednesday night Erik Ten Hag saw his Manchester United side beat Real Betis by 3-2 margin. Iker Losada opened the scoring for Betis in the 15th minute before Marcus Rashford made it 1-1 in the 18th minute via penalty.

Amad Diallo then scored in the 24th minute to make it 2-1 before Casemiro made it 3-1 in the 31st minute. Betis then struck in the 62nd minute as Diego Llorente made it 3-2 and the United defence stayed strong to win the game for their side.

The Red Devils will round off their US tour with a game against Liverpool before taking on Man City in the Community Shield. The first game of the English Premier League season will see Fulham travel to Old Trafford to take on Erik Ten Hag’s side. Joshua Zirkzee is expected to make his debut and lead the attack in the absence of Rasmus Hojlund.
