Manchester United have signed just two players in the summer transfer window but are keen on adding more muscle to the squad. Manager Erik Ten Hag has said that he wants more players to be brought in a bid to make his side more strong and for more options and flexibility on the bench.
One player who is keen to join the INEOS revolution at Manchester United is none other than Dutch star Matthijs De Ligt. The young defender is currently with Bayern Munich and has already accepted personal terms with the Old Trafford-based club.
Erik Ten Hag and De Ligt share a special bond as they had done well with each other during their time at Ajax. This year Bayern Munich want to buy Johnathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen and had already signed Kim Min Jae last year from Napoli.
Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano while speaking on his YouTube channel said, “There were other possibilities for Matthijs de Ligt in recent days, not in England but in other countries, he keeps repeating he wants to wait for Manchester United.”
Matthijs De Ligt wants Manchester United move
According to Fabrizio Romano, Dutch star Matthijs De Ligt has spurned the advances of other clubs in a bid to make his way to Manchester United. There were rumours that the Dutch star could have huge potential for one of the big Spanish clubs.
Fabrizio Romano also said, “He agreed on personal terms in June, he believes this is the best opportunity, he trusts the project he trusts the manager and he wants to feel important after a few difficult years at Bayern.”
“He’s never been a regular starter, he’s had some problems and also with the Dutch national team he’s not a regular starter, so Matthijs d Ligt wants to feel important and this is why he wants to wait for Manchester United,” the Italian further added
The injury suffered by Leny Yoro might see the Manchester United bosses make a new push to sign the Dutch star. The French defender had injured himself versus Arsenal during the pre-season game. The 18-year-old was seen in crutches on Wednesday while boarding the official team bus.
