On Tuesday night, Manchester City honoured Kevin De Bruyne with a ceremony befitting a club great as he said an emotional goodbye to the Etihad Stadium. The gifted midfielder, who is already 33 and has played for Sky Blue for ten years, is scheduled to depart this summer. Kevin De Bruyne got notes from family members and past teammates, teammates presented him with a guard of honour, and supporters shared a tribute video for him shortly after City's 3-1 victory over Bournemouth.
The Etihad Stadium will shortly be adorned with a statue of De Bruyne that was commissioned by Manchester City. Alongside former teammates David Silva, Vincent Kompany, and Sergio Agüero, the Belgium international currently ranks among Manchester City's all-time greats. He will also join the likes of club greats from earlier decades, such as Colin Bell, Francis Lee, and Mike Summerbee.
De Bruyne quickly established himself as a quality midfield player while playing for Wolfsburg before joining Manchester City in 2015. With 421 games played, 108 goals scored, and 177 assists provided, he has helped Manchester United win six Premier League crowns, two FA Cups, and the Champions League.

Kevin De Bruyne regarded as Manchester City legend
After De Bruyne joined Man City for the first time in 2015, as they say, the rest is history. The Belgian midfielder completed a historic treble in 2023. In addition to his innumerable personal accolades, De Bruyne is regarded as a Premier League icon in addition to a Man City one.
As he attempts to revamp his system, Pep Guardiola is referring to De Bruyne as one of the few players he will replace. Due to interest from Aston Villa and Liverpool, De Bruyne, who has been linked to other teams, may also remain in the Premier League. De Bruyne has not disclosed his future location, but rumours indicate the Chicago Fire, an MLS team, is in the lead to sign him.
