The joy of making it to the finish line this time was evident after six losses and a 3-3 tie with Feyenoord, which must have seemed like a loss considering City was ahead 3-0 with 20 minutes remaining. However, De Bruyne scored almost instantly when he drew away from Doku to have enough room to intercept a short ball from his teammate Belgian and deliver the ideal finish.  Guardiola's jubilation was one of utter relief when Doku scored a fantastic goal from the edge of the area to clinch City's triumph, which turned out to be the league's joint-largest margin of victory.

Jadon Sancho scored Chelsea's opening goal as they easily won by relentlessly taking advantage of a string of Southampton mistakes. Axel Disasi, Christopher Nkunku, Noni Madueke, and Cole Palmer had given the Blues the lead before Sancho completed the scoring. Cole Palmer, Madueke, and Nkunku all had chances to increase the advantage, but Joao Felix missed a straightforward opportunity just after the half. In the 53rd minute, Tosin struck the post once more.

Eventually, Palmer scored his tenth goal of the season after Nkunku's first attempt was stopped. After that, substitute Sancho gave Chelsea their first goal when he finished a one-on-one opportunity after Malo Gusto's through pass. Fabian Schar's late equalizer was as amazing as In a very interesting match at St James' Park, Newcastle held Premier League leaders Liverpool to a draw.

After coming back from behind twice, the Reds believed they had done enough to win and keep their nine-point lead at the top of the table, but Mohamed Salah gave them a 3-2 lead with seven minutes remaining. Schar, however, secured a well-earned point for Newcastle by volleying in from a free-kick that Caoimhin Kelleher attempted to claim but was unsuccessful.
