The UEFA Euro 2024 group stage is almost in the business end with only four games left to play. Some sides have already confirmed their place in the next round while some are still waiting to be confirmed. The top two teams from each group will directly make it to the RO16 and the top four best third-placed teams out of the six make it to the next round of the tournament.

Denmark has qualified as the second-best team from Group C had England, Slovenia, and Serbia. The Three Lions went through as the group toppers after winning one game and drawing the other two. Denmark and Slovenia finished with three points each after drawing all of their games, with Serbia at the bottom with two. had identical records. Both had three points, with two goals scored and two surrendered, and their 1-1 tie in Stuttgart meant they couldn't be separated on head-to-head.

Despite this, the Danes finished second, with Slovenia third. And it was just because Denmark had better records than their opponents in qualification for the ongoing major tournament. Ahead of the tournament for teams who finished tied on points, the tiebreakers were to be used in the following order. Head-to-head, then goal difference, goals scored, and if Slovenia and Denmark finished level after playing each other in the last group game, we may have had a penalty shootout.
