Kevin De Bruyne is going to be a free agent soon and many clubs are in pursuit of signing the Manchester City legend next season. Serie A club Napoli is tipped to lead the list of suitors as per recent reports.

Kevin De Bruyne to head to Italy next season

Kevin De Bruyne has a long list of suitors who are ready to sign him. The Belgian is in the process of making up his mind and choosing his next destination.

Among the clubs interested, Major League Soccer team Chicago Fire was considered a strong contender. However, Napoli has now positioned itself as the frontrunner and is expected to finalize a deal for his signature.

Reports from Italy suggest that the 33-year-old is close to reaching an agreement on a three-year contract with the Serie A Champions.

As per reports, the Belgian will receive €6 million for the first two seasons and €5 million during his last season. He will receive an additional €10 million signing bonus on account of his free agentry status. His wages mark a steep decline from what he received at the Etihad. The Belgian Captain earned £400,000 per week. However, Kevin De Bruyne appears to be less bothered as his intentions for switching the club aren't driven by finances.

Sources close to the player indicate that De Bruyne is determined to show his ability to perform at the highest level in European football. Lifestyle factors have also played a role in his decision, particularly as his wedding recently took place in Sorrento, near Naples. While De Bruyne acknowledged earlier this month that departing from City wasn't entirely his decision, he now appears focused on embracing the next chapter of his career.

An official statement about the transfer is still awaited as both parties are in the process of negotiating the final few points. The official announcement is expected to be disclosed soon.
