According to reports Juventus are interested to sign Douglas Luiz. Juventus has announced that they have reached an agreement with Aston Villa to sign Douglas Luiz. With the arrival of the 23-year-old midfielder, Villa Park will witness the opposite movement of Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea of Juventus. Luiz departs Villa after 204 games played over five years, with 22 goals.

After moving from Manchester City to Villa Park in 2019, Luiz played a significant role in Unai Emery's squad's fourth-place finish in the Premier League and Champions League qualification. According to reports, Juventus is paying about 50 million euros (£42.3 million) for Luiz. The club also stated that they will get 22 million euros (£18.5 million) from Villa for the two players leaving, along with an additional 3 million euros (£2.5 million) in incentives.

Next week, while in Brazil's training camp,Douglas Luiz will have a medical examination, according to a statement from Juventus. Although Weston McKennie was originally part of the agreement, the US international's pay became a sticking point early in the week, making a deal hard to close.

Aston Villa set to sell many players in summer transfer

While on loan at Frosinone, Argentina's Barrenechea was demoted from Serie A last season. Iling-Junior, an England Under-21 international who came via Chelsea's academy, made 27 appearances for Juventus last season. Alisha Lehmann, a striker for Aston Villa Women and Switzerland, will also join Juventus. Villa are set to sell players this summer to meet with profit and sustainability (PSR) standards, after reporting a £119 million loss in their books up to May 31, 2023.

Aston Villa have already transferred midfielder Tim Iroegbunam to Everton for a reputed £9 million, while Chelsea are close to acquiring attacking midfielder Omari Kellyman for a whopping £19 million. That expectation is despite the club's qualification for the Champions League after placing fourth last season. Villa voted against the implementation of PSR regulations, which took effect in 2015-16 and allowed Premier League clubs to lose up to £105 million over three years.
