Joshua Kimmich is currently participating in the UEFA Euro 2024. The German footballer is rumoured to leave the club after the end of the season. He has been on the radar of FC Barcelona for quite a long time now, the Blaugrnaes have shown their interest in signing the footballer for the upcoming season. One thing that restricts the club from signing the Bayern Munich right-back for the 2024/25 season.

The 29-year-old is already having issues at the German club since he must play as a right defender; nonetheless, this demonstrates his versatility in the game and ability to play in a variety of positions. With his contract set to end in 2025, the German international may consider moving to Spain during the summer transfer window. The Bavarians are trying to extend his contract but the footballer has no interest in signing the extension beyond 2025.

As of now, the Bavarians need €60 million for the 29-year-old footballer, which Barcelona cannot afford. Things will get intriguing in the following days as certain footballers are expected to be listed as outgoings in the summer transfer market. However, Kimmich turned down an offer from Barcelona since it was not to his expectations. According to sources, he reportedly makes over €19.5 million before taxes, a wage that Barcelona finds difficult to match as per the club's financial crisis.

Will Kimmich sign for Manchester City?

Bayern also failed to win a single trophy in the season for the first time since 2012. They have appointed Vincent Kompany as their new manager and the former Manchester City defender is looking to rebuild the side and win the silverware in the upcoming season 2024/25 season.

Kimmich might be a crucial footballer in the system of the Belgian manager, but since his issue with the management, he might be making his way out. Manchester City can also be an option as he would like to return to his former manager, as he was turned as a right back by Pep Guardiola and can fit in well for the side as he can provide depth in the squad
