Mourinho appeared in an interview with Turkish site Fanatik, where he was asked about his coaching style. That's when the popular manager felt it is complicated to explain his impact on the game. Mourinho claimed that the style of playing and coaching in the early 2000s was totally different compared to the mid 2000s, a period in which teams started to win under him.

"It is complicated. Methodologically, I think there is a distinction between before me and after me. Methodologically, in terms of how you train, how you think about the game, in the early 2000s, until 2000 and 2004 when I won my first Champions League, there was a big explosion of interest in the way I worked and then there is clearly an after," said Mourinho in the interview.

The 62-year-old, who felt that the teams and players were interested in his way of playing, claimed that it was hard for the people to believe in his way of working. He claimed that there was a visibly radicsl change in the methodologies. In that way, Mourinho felt Football changed as his managing style inspired the world.

"I remember, for example, when I came to Italy to Inter, when I first went to Italy, even the players didn’t really believe in that way of working. There was a radical change on a methodological level," Mourinho added in his statement.
