Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated what he is planning for the forward Julian Alvarez as he is ready to keep him with the club despite the transfer rumours. Meanwhile, Julian Alvarez is linked with many clubs in Europe but mainly Atletico Madrid is currently leading the race to get the signature of the player ahead of the new season start.

In the January transfer window, Manchester City signed the forward for 14 million Euros and since then Julian Alvarez has appeared in 103 games and scored 36 goals for Manchester City across all tournaments. However, due to Erling Haaland, the first-choice striker for Manchester City his playing time at the club was cut short which led to rumours about him leaving the club to get more playing time.

Currently, Julian Alvarez was on national duty with Argentina but their gold journey with the team ahead as France defeated them in the quarter-final match of the Paris Olympics 2024. Meanwhile during the pre-season tour match of Manchester City against Chelsea Pep Guardiola cleared the air surrounding his transfer.

During the press conference, Pep Guardiola said, “I count on him, but he said in the news that decisions will be made all together. Now he has to rest and when he feels ready to come back, he will come back. "I'm sure when he comes back I'll hug and congratulate him for the Copa America, for the Olympics and we will start to work together. This is the reality.” "No news. I don't have anything to say. He will come back," Guardiola said as per BBC.

Two clubs eager to sign Julian Alvarez

Ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, Arsenal are also interested in signing the forward to boost their title-winning chances after ending in second position last season. They will face a race with Atletico Madrid who are eager to sign him because of the place left by Alvaro Morata as he is joining AC Milan.

Julian Alvarez has a contract with Manchester City which keeps him until 2028. He will join Manchester City after the pre-season tour ends and will be back in action for their FA Community Shield title match against their arch-rivals Manchester United.
