Due to rumors that the star player for Manchester City needs more guarantees about playing time, Julian Alvarez may be moving this summer. Arsenal has also been linked to him. This summer, the striker won the Copa America, one year after winning the Triple Crown and eighteen months after winning the World Cup. Alvarez, however, is not first choice for City because Erling Haland is leading the line.
Due largely to Kevin De Bruyne's injury, Alvarez made 31 Premier League starts. However, he only started two of the team's ten UEFA Champions League matches en route to the quarterfinals.
A summer departure may be imminent because Pep Guardiola, who has never prevented a player from leaving, is not going to be able to make commitments on playing time. It goes without saying that the route between the Etihad Stadium and the Emirates Stadium has already been used extensively recently.
Both Oleksandr Zinchenko as well as Gabriel Jesus moved south, with Jesus departing Manchester City for exactly the same reasons as Alvarez, despite the fact that he was older and had a lower potential ceiling. Alvarez reportedly has an £80 million price tag attached to him. Actually, Arsenal might find that price too high, and Mikel Arteta is rumored to prefer another wide player anyhow.
Julian Alvarez targeted by Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid as well
According to reports, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez are both interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain. Gaston Edul, though, claims that PSG and Atletico are still very interested. It is rumored that the French team made a "formal offer" to entice Alvarez to leave this summer.
The amount involved is not disclosed, however PSG's offer is anticipated to be more than Atletico's impending €60 million offer. Although PSG is thought to have offered a better contract than Atletico, the Spanish team still has an edge because Alvarez would rather play in Madrid than Paris.
