Tajon Buchanan, a wingback for Inter Milan and the Canadian national team, sustained a "serious" lower leg injury during Copa America 2024 training. Reporter Matthew Scianitti of the Canadian broadcaster TSN claims this. He tweets that the 25-year-old was hurt during a training exercise and is currently in the hospital.

Inter fullback Buchanan has been traveling alongside the Canadian national team during the Copa America for the last several weeks. The Inter player began the tournament's opening game, a 2-0 loss against Argentina. Tajon Buchanan later came from the bench in more games during the group round. Canada advanced to the knockout stages by defeating Peru and drawing with Chile.

However, the Canadian writer doesn't go into detail on the specifics of the issue. He does point out that the Canadian players had been performing training drills when the accident happened during today's practice. And it was the lower leg of Buchanan. According to Scianitti, the Inter wingback's injury caused the squad to become "sombre," which is why the training session concluded early.

He reports that Buchanan is in the hospital right now. There should be more information about the type and severity of the injury as well as a possible timeframe for recovery. Buchanan joined Inter at the beginning of this year as a player. In the January transfer window, the 25-year-old left Club Brugge to join the Nerazzurri.

Lautaro Martinez set to stay despite interest from Premier League

Chelsea has expressed interest in Lautaro Martinez, although the Inter Milan forward's agent has dealt a setback to any potential suitors this summer. Not just Chelsea, but there have also been rumors that Chelsea might be interested in the former Saudi Pro League striker from Racing Club.

During an interview with the Italian publication FCInter1908, Alejandro Camano, Martinez's agent, refuted any discussion about his client moving out of Italy. He said, “New offers from Saudi Arabia? We have reached an agreement with Inter Milan to renew his contract. Lautaro is the captain of Inter and this is very important for him.”
